Drop Nineteens, October 12
Boston’s storied musical past brought blissful noise back to the present day this week as Drop Nineteens announced an exciting and unexpected return after three decades away. The legendary shoegaze band unveiled a sparking new song called “Scapa Flow,” the first taste of new sophomore album Hard Light, due this fall via Wharf Cat and featuring the original lineup from influential 1992 debut album Delaware: Greg Ackell, Steve Zimmerman, Paula Kelley, Motohiro Yasue, and Peter Koeplin. There is also a short run of six shows coming up soon as well, including an October 12 homecoming date at the Paradise Rock Club that might be one of the most essential Boston music gigs this year. Vanyaland has partnered with Drop Nineteens and Crossroads Presents to provide an exclusive pre-sale code of HARDLIGHT, and the pre-sale runs today (August 3) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Go pass that around to friends, and take note: Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (August 4) at 10 a.m. local time.
