UPDATE August 3: EarthGang and Dead Prez have been announced as headliners for the festival.
The creators of GLD FSTVL have shared a gold mine of a lineup for the Boston fest’s inaugural edition.
Oompa, Van Buren Records, Latrell James, and festival organizers STL GLD (pictured above) are among the artists who will provide 10 hours of hip-hop to City Hall Plaza on Saturday, August 12. Today the festival’s Instagram page unveiled the roster of performers, which also includes Billy Dean Thomas, kei, DJ E Dubble, DJ WhySham, DJ Slipwax, DJ Bobby Bangers, and participants from The Hip-Hop Transformation. The city-sponsored showcase is scheduled for noon to 10 p.m., with food trucks and retails vendors on site to fuel the festival experience.
GLD FSTVL aims to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of hip-hop through its diverse selection of artists, from established scene vets like STL GLD, to buzzing newer arrivals like kei.
“This event pays homage to the culture of hip hop that has evolved in #Boston over the last 50 years, so it’s an honor to have these performers coming to our stage!” today’s Instagram announcement states.
