Time marches on with little regard for feelings, and while that may normally be something to frown upon, it does draw us closer to the new album from Drab Majesty. Deb Demure and Mona D.’s post-punk and darkwave project rekindled our interest in simply being last month with their collab with Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, and today (July 11) the duo unveils “The Skin and the Glove,” a baggy, Madchester-leaning pop tumbler that furthers help shape the forthcoming mini-album An Object in Motion, set for release August 25 via Dais Records.

Here’s the word: “Inspired by the insuperable march of time reflected in the song’s lyrics, for the accompanying video Deb Demure and Mona D. decided upon the one medium that reflects most accurately the way that memories seem sewn together by fragments of imagery. The ‘flashing frames of time’ captured by the Super 8mm camera seem naturally edited in some part by simply moving through moments, holding down the trigger and choosing to remember certain aspects of a day, a trip or an extended period of travel.”
