Rancid, September 18 and 19
Next month, Rancid unleash their 10th studio album in Tomorrow Never Comes, produced by longtime collaborator, Bad Religion guitarist, and Epitaph founder, Brett Gurewitz. And if the fiery title track is any indication, it could be one of the iconic punk band’s banner releases. But just as notable as the album news is the pair of shows Rancid are playing September 18 and 19 at Citizens House of Blues, with Agnostic Front on board for Night 1 and Murphy’s Law in for Night 2. Both shows are opened by English punk band Grade 2, who dropped an Album of the Year contender back in February and have earned our attention with seemingly every piss n’ vinegar-fueled release. Get to both of these shows early. Tickets are on sale now.
Local Natives, Time Will Wait For No One Tour, August 22
It takes only a few seconds of Local Natives‘ new track “NYE” to be transported back to our care-free, indie rock-soundtracked youth. The breezy single will be featured on the enduring Los Angeles band’s forthcoming album Time Will Wait For No One, out July 7 via Loma Vista. A few weeks later, Local Natives’ tour brings them to Citizens House of Blues on August 22 with special guest Annika Bennett. “This record was made during a time of metamorphosis for us,” Local Natives say in a statement. “Former selves melting away as some of us became fathers, endured periods of isolation, loss, and identity crisis. The highs and lows we were feeling at the same time were so extreme.” Tickets go on sale Friday (May 12) at 10 a.m. local time.
