Every year at CinemaCon — a Vegas-based gathering of theater owners, journalists, and studio reps that is more like Apple’s WWDC or the now-defunct E3 convention — there’s always one giant screening of a big summer picture, provided the studio’s willing to take on the risk of it blowing up in their faces. In recent years, Disney’s been the big show-off, with Lightyear and the last Pirates movie being two centerpiece features at their respective editions of the convention, but this year, Warner Bros. is taking charge. That’s right, CinemaCon’s about to enter the Speed Force, as Andy Muschietti’s The Flash will screen on Tuesday for those in attendance.
If you’re a DC fan worried about spoilers, we recommend you’d avoid Twitter (well, generally, we just recommend that anybody does) or your buddy’s Discord or a Twitch chat, because they’re gonna hit like a meteor shower afterwards. But on the plus side, here’s this brand-new trailer for the film, which is sort of like serving up methadone to the jittering masses of comic book nerds who aren’t in Vegas.

Here’s a brand-new synopsis for the film, which tells you quite a bit about exactly what’s going on here:
“Worlds collide in ‘The Flash’ when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”
The Flash, after what feels like a century-long odyssey to the screen, will finally hit theaters on June 16. Go ahead and see if you can find a pair of Keaton-Batman Underroos. We’re sure they’re still out there, and you’ll want to be comfy when you go to check this one out on opening day. Or don’t!
