There are very few sure things in this miserable hellscape we call life, but Alison Goldfrapp delivering a kaleidoscopic disco-pop banger for her debut solo effort certainly livens up the short list. The English artist and record producer, who has long kept dance floors packed as one half and namesake of English electronic-pop duo Goldfrapp, dropped “So Hard So Hot” today (March 16), just as our senses begin to fade into the grayscale workweek. The house-tinged track follows a few teaser collaborations (Claptone, Paul Woolford) and will be featured on her forthcoming solo album, The Love Invention, out May 12 via Skint/BMG Music. The LP was executive produced and co-written by Goldfrapp and features collabs with Richard X (Pet Shop Boys, M.I.A.), James Greenwood (Daniel Avery, Kelly Lee Owens) and Toby Scott (The Gossip, Annie). Look ahead to the weekend, and allow Goldfrapp to drop a glossy new beat below.
