Editor’s Note: While the month of March is most often closely associated with shamrocks, Guinness, and Dropkick Murphys becoming everyone’s favorite band for a few weeks, look no further than right here for your pot o’ gold at the end of the comedy rainbow. With homegrown talent, national headliners, and open mics galore highlighting the calendar, the plethora of powerful comedy in and around the city continues to bring a level of madness that can’t even be topped by the top-seeded basketball program in the nation. As the days (hopefully) become warmer and we start to thaw from the bitterness chill of winter, we always want to make sure you know about cool stuff going on in the world of comedy. Enter Mic’d Up, our ongoing weekly series that details the best live comedy shows to consider as you head out and about. Below find our rundown for this week, through Sunday (March 12).

Atsuko Okatsuka at Laugh Boston

After delivering one of the best specials of 2022, Okatsuka is bringing her latest run of material to torn for a little workout. In a sea of comedians, there are few that are as true to themselves as she is, and her latest visit to the city is almost a guarantee to put that on full display.

ATSUKO OKATSUKA :: Wednesday, March 8 at Laugh Boston, 425 Summer St. in Boston, MA :: 7 p.m. :: Advance Tickets

Sam Morril at The Wilbur

Morril is nothing if not determined. Grinding hard in both stand-up and the podcast realm, his Class Act tour is no oversell. He’s one of the best joke writers in the game, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better night out than to watch Morril crush during any of his five shows at The Wilbur.

SAM MORRIL :: Friday, March 10 to Sunday, March 12 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: Friday at 6:30 and 9 p.m., Saturday at 6 and 8:45 p.m., Sunday at 6 p.m., $33 to $40 :: Advance Tickets

John Baglio at Nick’s Comedy Stop

While the national acts rolling through town this week give us more than enough to look forward to, Baglio’s hometown headlining sets at a legendary venue should come as both no surprise, as well as a reminder of the consistently bustling local scene we have here. He’s got jokes, stories, and a true passion for bringing the laughs in heavy doses without pushing it into cringe territory, and he makes it look easy.

JOHN BAGLIO :: Friday, March 10 Saturday, March 11 at Nick’s Comedy Stop, 100 Warrenton St. in Boston, MA :: Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., $22 :: Advance Tickets

Cameron Esposito at Laugh Boston

After quite a whirlwind of a few years, Esposito returns to deliver a potent hour composed of their signature verbal illustrations, and what we can only imagine are pretty powerful and poignant moments and experiences. It’s good to see her back in town, and we’re sure the feeling is mutual for the BC alum.

CAMERON ESPOSITO :: Sunday, March 12 at Laugh Boston, 425 Summer St. in Boston, MA :: 6 and 8:30 p.m., $35 :: Advance Tickets
