A little more than a month after signing Death Ray Vision, Metal Blade Records has dipped back into Massachusetts’ murkier waters. The legendary label has announced the signing of Boston’s MORNE, and will release the heavy atmospheric band’s new album later this fall. MORNE are currently in the studio with Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studio in Salem, working on the follow-up to 2018 studio album To the Night Unknown and the 2019 re-release of Rust.
“[This] will be our fifth studio album and we are very excited that a legendary label like Metal Blade is releasing it to the universe,” states MORNE vocalist Milosz, who adds that the “music and words for this album were written during stressful and challenging times and life changing moments and I hope people will find something for themselves in this album and enjoy it. I’m very grateful that Metal Blade helped us put it all together.”
Metal Blade label manager Markus Grasseck says in a press releases that the label has been a fan of MORNE since their inaugural effort, Demo 2008, which was re-released digitally in 2020. “The band’s unique blend of atmospheric doom with crust attitude is unparalleled and we can’t wait to get this out to as many people as possible,” Grasseck says. “Brace yourself for their new album due out this fall!”
In the meantime, MORNE head over to Germany to perform live at next month’s Hell Over Hammaburg festival in Hamburg. Fire up MORNE’s unique brand of metal via Spotify, and check the festival flyer after the jump.
