Ever seen a music video that’s an absolute jam, featuring a literal jar of jam, with the artist’s face superimposed on said jam? Probably not, and that’s why we think OG Swaggerdick just invented the art of jam-ception with “Viva La Bam.” The Boston rapper returned yesterday (December 7) with a new single and video from his forthcoming project Sharp Boi Madness Vol. 1, the followup to 2021’s Flaccid Rap.
Faced with a budget of $100, Swaggerdick apparently raided his pantry for props that align with his lyrics, like grits and green eggs and ham (dyed with food coloring, we’re assuming). The end result is a video that bursts with his colorful brand of camp, whether Swaggerdick’s face is obscured by a plastic Darth Vader mask, or spitting bars from the depths of a Smuckers jar. Wham bam thank you, jam.
