We tend to cover beabadoobee quite a bit around these parts, and after highlighting the alt-pop luminary’s upcoming North American tour last month, we figured we’d be all set for a while; at least until she rolls into town this December to play Roadrunner in Boston. But then the singer-songwriter swung by SiriusXM to show off her new album Beatopia and play a few songs for a live in-studio performance, and one of those was her rendition of The Sundays’ modern rock classic “Here’s Where The Story Ends.”
It’s a pretty great cover, and beabadoobee brings the same feathery grace to the vocals as Harriet Wheeler dis back in 1990 — and that’s no small accomplishment. Check out the clip below, via SiriusXM Alt Nation, and hear beabadoobee’s full performance on the SXM app’s Alt Nation channel.
Meanwhile, beabadoobee’s tour kicks off October 25 in Washington, D.C., and hits 27 stages before wrapping December 4 at Brighton Landing. Tickets to all shows are on sale now; get all the dates after the YouTube jump.
