Over the course of his career behind the mic, Mo Amer has taken to the stage to tell the story of his life. Now, he’s officially continuing the tale – but just through a different lens this time around.
As announced today (April 29), Amer’s semi-autobiographical series, Mo, is set to premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, August 24. According to the official description of the eight-episode series, which was created by Amer and award-winning comedian Ramy Youssef, the series follows Mo Najjar, a semi-autobiographical role played by Amer, as he straddles the line between two cultures, three languages and a ton of bullshit as a Palestinian refugee constantly living one step away from asylum on the path to U.S. citizenship.
It’s the latest project in Amer’s content deal with Netflix, following his recent stand-up special, Mohammed in Texas, which debuted for the streaming service last November.
