Sure, Alex Edelman’s father is a groundbreaking cardiologist and his brother is an Olympic athlete. But can they say they’ve performed stand-up in the late night spotlight? We’re guessing that’s a ‘no.’

Making his late night television debut last week (March 11) on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Edelman took to the stage at the Ed Sullivan Theater to do what he does best as he dove head first into the little details of his family, and the big achievements of the household that may or may not matter so much when it comes to pointing out the trivial shortcomings of everyday life.

Employing his untouchable ability to paint a full-fledged picture with his words, an attribute undoubtedly sharpened during the critically-acclaimed run of his latest one man show Just For Us, the Brookline native commanded his time in the spotlight as Stephen Colbert looked on from the shadows, and in an Olympic form of his own, stuck the landing of his first late-night appearance without a doubt.

Check it out.
