The Foxies raise an alt-pop glass to the alone and lonely on ‘Demolition’

The Foxies know you’ve been through a lot in 2020, because they’ve been through a lot, too. The Nashville alt-pop trio dropped a new EP earlier this year — titled Growing Up Is Dead and billed as the sound of adolescence evaporating — and now strike again with a slick and splashy new tune in “Demolition.” It furthers the band’s knack for combining punk with electro-pop for a glittery explosion of beats and grit that reflect just how we’re all feeling as we canvass this shitshow that is life.

“2020 by itself seems crazy enough, but this year feels like the explosion of decades of tension, frustration, and suppression,” The Foxies declare. “The song highlights the point of view of being single, sexually frustrated, and spending a lot of alone during this strange time. Sometimes it feels like the easiest move is to just blow the whole thing up.”

Take their advice as you need it, and hit play on “Demolition” below.
