It’s no secret that we’re big fans of director Rian Johnson around these parts, as even before the dude courted nerd hatred with the groundbreaking Star Wars: The Last Jedi, he’d made several astonishing pictures. Remember how good Brick was? Or how about Looper? That movie rules! Anyways, Johnson’s departed the Mouse House — perhaps to escape the constant death threats from people who just can’t get over a two year-old movie’s release — and crafted an Agatha Christie tribute, entitled Knives Out, along with an all-star cast. You’ve got Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Christopher Plummer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lakeith Stanfield, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon and Ana De Armas assembled: how could this be anything other than awesome? Lionsgate dropped a trailer for the film on Tuesday, and, man, we are feeling this one.
Take a look:
Here’s a synopsis:
“Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson (‘Brick,’ ‘Looper,’ ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’) pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in ‘Knives Out’, a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death. With an all-star ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell, ‘Knives Out’ is a witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.”

Knives Out hits theaters on November 27. We can’t wait, and God, we hope this plays a certain fall festival later on this year…
