Mic’d Up: Josh Gondelman and friends team up for Mike Dorval benefit

Via Comedy Dynamics

Editor’s Note: It’s the same thing we all know in love when it comes to Vanyaland’s recurring weekly live comedy rundown, Mic’d Up — just a slightly different face. We’ll be hyping club shows, theater and arena gigs, open mics, and whatever else to help fill your free time with some much-needed laughter.

Sometimes, you want to go where everybody knows your name. However, it’s also nice to be in a place where you know who has your back on home turf — and as Josh Gondelman and a few of his friends will show us next week, Boston is that place when it comes to supporting one of their own in fellow comedian Mike Dorval.

Bringing the party to Laugh Boston on Monday (April 14), Gondelman — along with fellow Boston-bred comics Gary Gulman, Tooky Kavanagh, Brian Kiley, and the legendary Tony V — will set up shop for a night of hilarity and charity, as they aim to raise support and awareness for longtime Boston comedy staple Mike Dorval, who is now in remission following a cancer diagnosis in 2024.

This will mark the second benefit show for Dorval in the last few months as he remains sidelined from his work onstage while he continues his cancer recovery treatments. Kavanagh was also featured on a lineup at The Comedy Studio back in February that included Eugene Mirman, Jack Hall, Dan Boulger, Chris Post and more.

BOSTON COMEDY BENEFIT FOR MIKE DORVAL :: Monday, April 14 at Laugh Boston, 425 Summer St. in Boston, MA :: 6 p.m., $40 :: Advance tickets
