Don’t look now, but The Used are turning 25 in ’25. And as expected, the Utah alt-rock band is celebrating in dramatic style. Bert McCracken and the boys are taking on North America this spring for their 25 Year Anniversary Tour, playing three nights in each city to perform their first three albums in full: Self-titled record The Used (2002), In Love And Death (2004) and Lies For The Liars (2007).
For us here in Boston, that means a trio of gigs that start tonight (April 9) at House of Blues on Lansdowne Street and wrap up with a weekend swing on Friday and Saturday (April 11 and 12).
“Overwhelmed! These first three records are what put The Used on the map,” shares McCracken. “I can’t wait to experience the joy in playing all three records from front to back. I know it will be an amazing time. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Sending love to you all and I hope to see you there!”
Adds bassist Jepha: “We feel extremely lucky and humbled to have been a part of something way bigger than ourselves for the past 25 years. To everyone that has been there from the beginning or is just starting out your adventure with us thank you. Here’s to the next 25!”
