Fans of that one ugly motherfucker known as the Predator will be eating good in 2025. Sure, we already knew that director Dan Trachtenberg, who breathed new life into the franchise with Prey a few years ago, would be returning for Predator: Badlands, a new theatrical film that will make its debut in the fall, but Trachtenberg likes to keep busy. So, imagine our surprise when Hulu dropped the Predator: Killer of Killers trailer on Tuesday, a straight-to-streaming animated anthology movie that’s only a few weeks away from release.
We love shit like this, and miss when studios used to make gambles like The Animatrix, Batman: Gotham Knight, or that one Chronicles of Riddick movie that we saw all over Big Lots superstores for the next three or four years. Such were the ’00s. Anyway, it looks dope, and we can’t wait to see the Predators take on Vikings, Samurai, and grizzled GIs.
Peep it:
Count how many times they use the word “killers” in this official synopsis:
“’Predator: Killer of Killers,’ an original animated action-adventure film set in the Predator universe, will premiere June 6th, 2025, exclusively on Hulu. The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers.”
As you undoubtedly read above, Predator: Killer of Killers will hit Hulu on June 6, but they don’t tell you that Predator: Badlands will follow only a few months later. That one’s theatrically bound and will arrive at a multiplex near you on November 7.
