To hear unreleased tunes from Newburyport’s finest actor-artist, head to New Hampshire.

We’re roughly a week away receiving The Crux, the new album from alt-rock act Djo — a.k.a. Joe Keery, a.k.a beloved Stranger Things character Steve Harrington, a.k.a. owner of the most meme-able hair of the 2010s. Regardless of which of those fandoms you fall under, you can get an early listening experience with The Crux this weekend at the Keene and Plaistow locations of Bull Moose.

Both shops — and most of Bull Moose’s Maine locales — will host free listening parties this Saturday (March 29) at 2 p.m. The New England entertainment chain announced the events earlier this month via Instagram, touting “limited freebies and good vibes.” The lone Massachusetts listening event, hosted by Max J Records in Fairhaven, has closed its online registration, though there’s no advance sign-up required for any of the Bull Moose parties.

Following the viral success of the song “End of Beginning,” Keery began the rollout for The Crux earlier this year, revealing singles “Basic Being Basic” and “Delete Ya” over the course of the winter. After his third LP drops next Friday (April 4), the artist hits the road with former bandmates Post Animal, bringing the North American tour to Roadrunner in early May.

In the meantime, grab all the details about this weekend’s listening parties below.
