Editor’s Note: It’s the same thing we all know in love when it comes to Vanyaland’s recurring weekly live comedy rundown, Mic’d Up — just a slightly different face. We’ll be hyping club shows, theater and arena gigs, open mics, and whatever else to help fill your free time with some much-needed laughter.
No matter how flat you make a pancake, there’s always two sides to it — and Adam Ray is making his way to town to tell us how it is, with a bit of Texas attitude, from beneath the bald cap.
Bringing his wildly successful impression of Dr. Phil on the road, Ray makes his way to Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on Thursday (March 27) for all the chaos, hilarity, and comically confrontational advice he’s able to muster while donning the legendary talk show host’s signature suit, mustache, and Texas drawl.
While Ray has sold out venues all over the country with his latest creative endeavor, he’s also dominated the digital space with a litany of recorded material making its way to YouTube, as well as a full-length special that fully encompassed the insanity that has unfolded during the shows since Ray began hosting monthly gatherings at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles to work the character out in 2023, which premiered on Netflix in late 2024.
Ray has been on the stand-up grind for over two decades, as well as a strong player in the podcast game with About Last Night, but the obvious lightning in a bottle he’s maintained and built upon doesn’t seem to be subsiding any time soon. We’ll be right back.
