The indoor arena at Boston Calling Music Festival is back in operation — and this year, it’s all jazzed up. The fest announced that it has partnered with Berklee College of Music to feature nine performances across Memorial Day weekend, further enhancing a dedication to showcasing homegrown music alongside the 51 bands and artists taking over Allston’s Harvard Athletic Complex.

The indoor arena, which in past years has been used to host comedy (as well as Michael Che), joins the 12-band-and-artist Orange Stage as a platform for Boston-based musicians to perform live at the festival. It’ll also serve as a spacious, temperature-controlled space for all festival-goers to regroup and recharge.

This year’s student jazz performer lineup features Tiril Jackson, Devon Gates & Friends, and Su Yavuz on Friday (May 23); Srisley, Solaya + The Effect, and Su Yavuz on Saturday (May 24); and Manuela Sánchez Goubert (pictured), Aniyé, and Su Yavuz on Sunday (May 25).

“Boston Calling is a cornerstone of our city’s vibrant arts scene and now a treasured annual tradition,” says City of Boston Mayor Michelle Wu in a press release. “The festival’s dedication to highlighting local talent makes it a perfect stage for Berklee’s exceptional musicians, offering students a unique opportunity to share their artistry with new audiences. Berklee has long been at the forefront of shaping the next generation of musicians, and I’m excited to see these stars take the stage this May.”

This year’s Boston Calling is headlined by Dave Matthews Band, Luke Combs, and Fall Out Boy. And boasts a deep and eclectic lineup that spans decades and genres, welcoming Megan Maroney, Avril Lavigne, Vampire Weekend, Sheryl Crow, TLC, The Black Crowes, Tom Morello, T-Pain, Public Enemy, Sublime, Cage the Elephant, Spin Doctors, and more.

Berklee’s own Lucius are also playing, and the aforementioned Orange Stage welcomes Latrell James, Future Teens, Vivid Bloom, layzi, Megan From Work, and more.
