It’s a real flex, starting your album with a lengthy checklist of all the genres in store, but lilith makes the tally into a bona fide vibe on their debut record May Every Shape Hold. “Hip-hop? lilith got it,” a narrator says on “i still got it,” the opening track of the Boston DJ and producer’s February project. “Old ’90s R&B? lilith got it. Ambient, again? lilith got it.” Also on deck: Jazz, soul, jungle, DnB, house, and trap. In that sense, May Every Shape Hold is a living mosaic, prone to glitching and shifting at any moment — not unlike its overarching theme. “This is a culmination and love letter to the romance that has been in my life,” lilith shares in a post on Instagram.
