This Show Is Tonight: Hippo Campus bring a summer mood to Boston

Word on the street is that Hippo Campus crafted “the best album they have ever made,” and that comes right from the Minnesota indie rock band’s HQ. We get to test that claim tonight (February 7), as the Twin Cities luminaries, never short on confidence, bring September album FLOOD to Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

The local stop is part of an extensive 2025 North American tour that hits more than 30 cities, and we got a taste of the new material over the summer with the glistening “Paranoid,” which hit us right in the feels on the hottest days of the year. The weather has changed, but the vibes, they have not.

“‘Paranoid’ is the collection of sun flares plastered against your eyelids after falling asleep outside,” Hippo Campus declare. “What’s left of whipping shitties in your self-conscious for too long. It’s a hard look in the unforgiving mirror and the sobering realization that not all questions have answers.”

Oh, we feel that.
