Joe Wong is a man of many talents, who doesn’t often get the chance to make his way back to the birthplace of his stand-up career. So, naturally, now that he’s able to do just that later this spring, he’s bound to make it a special gathering.
As announced earlier this week, Wong will return to Boston, where he started his comedy career in 2001, for one night at The Wilbur on April 13. The show, dubbed Between Jobs, will showcase Wong’s award-winning storytelling and joke writing chops as he details the ups, downs, and in-betweens of life as he was starting out on his comedy journey in Boston after graduating college. In addition to a number of late-night sets over the years, Wong recently released a full-length comedy special, Who’s Your Asian Daddy?, on YouTube in 2024.
Only 24 hours before Wong makes his way back to town, though, the legendary Luenell makes her way to The Wilbur on April 12. Highlighted by a number of TV and film roles including Dolemite Is My Name, Coming 2 America, Hacks, and John Mulaney Presents: Everybody is in L.A., the longtime stand-up titan also released her first Netflix special, Town Business, as a part of Dave Chappelle’s Home Team series in 2023.
Additionally, Caleb Hearon will be sticking around a bit longer, as a 10 p.m. late show has been added to his tour-ending stop at The Wilbur on April 17.
