This miserable year so far hasn’t given us much to be excited about, but suddenly we have a new reason to stay relatively sane through the chaos: Rilo Kiley are back.
The influential Los Angeles indie band is confirmed to play its first show since 2008, and it’ll arrive at this year’s Just Like Heaven festival in Pasadena, California. The fest goes down May 10 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl.
“We are so very excited to come back together for Just Like Heaven in Pasadena, California — Los Angeles,” Rilo Kiley declare in a statement. “As a band, we began here, and we feel so fortunate to return among so many artists and friends, to this community we hold so dear, in such a beautiful and meaningful place.”
Getting the chance to hear Jenny Lewis and the boys bust out the iconic 2004 single “Portions for Foxes” is well worth the price of admission, but the rest of the Just Like Heaven lineup runs deep. Vampire Weekend headlines the fest, which also welcomes a lineup that sounds a lot like the pill on a Friday night in the late-2000s: Bloc Party, TV on the Radio, Empire of the Sun, The Drums, The Sounds, Beach Fossils, Peter Bjorn and John, Hercules & Love Affair, and more.
Revisit the timeless beauty that is “Portions for Foxes” — which somehow is 21 years old now?!?! — and peep the full lineup below.
