Coheed and Cambria * Taking Back Sunday, August 30
There’s nothing quite like those last few days of summer, when we come together to reminisce over the carefree days of yesterday and sing the songs of our youth with those we love the most. Coheed and Cambria are providing an especially inspired opportunity, as the New York progressive rock band teams up with emo veterans Taking Back Sunday for a co-headlining tour that plays Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on August 30. And they’re bringing Foxing along for the ride. The nostalgia is met with some modern flair, as Coheed just dropped an upbeat new track called “Someone Who Can,” from forthcoming album The Father of Make Believe, and it ties in nicely with how we’ll be feeling on Lansdowne Street that night. “When you’re growing up, you’re perpetually trying to understand the world that’s changing around you,” says Claudio Sanchez. “Over time, it’s comforting to reach the conclusion that you’ll never truly have things figured out.” Check out the video, directed by Mason Mercer, below. Tickets go on sale on Friday (January 17) at 10 a.m. local time.
