Those headed to see Myles Smith on April 22 and 23 at Boston’s House of Blues are encouraged to arrive early to catch support band Tors. The rising English trio are primed for a highly visible year ahead, joining Smith for his nearly sold-out We Were Never Strangers Tour of North America and releasing new EP Never Give Up via Glassnote Records in February.

This past Friday (January 10), Tors gave us a taste of their harmonic musical magic through “Scared,” a tender and melancholic indie-folk ballad recorded with Simone Felice (The Lumineers, Noah Kahan, Vance Joy).

Tors pull back the curtain on their new track by offering up the following: “‘Scared’ is a song about the loves we miss out on when we can’t muster the courage to pursue them. We can all be so prone to overthinking and assuming how the other person is feeling that we talk ourselves off the ledge of sending a message, making a phone call or even approaching someone we feel strongly about. It can be terrifying putting yourself out there and being vulnerable, but sometimes we need to remember it’s the blind leading the blind when it comes to love. No one really knows what they’re doing and it’s going to hurt sometimes.”
