Look, we miss the days when Timi O was based in Boston, but his time as a New Yorker is clearly fueling his prolific 2024. After dropping the singles “SUNDAYSERVICE” and “FEAR,” plus his May EP Clouds Look Like Mountains from Above, the Massachusetts-born artist has now released a full-fledged toast to l’amour called breakfastatnoon.

Designed “for the yearners, like myself” as Timi O says on Instagram, the early November album seeks out one of the city’s rarest commodities: A lasting, vulnerable connection. On his search, he romances New York with a carefully-arranged bouquet of hip-hop, syrupy R&B, and groove-laden electronica. The custom blend catches Timi O between a swoon and a suggestive smirk; if the original Sex and the City were still a thing, this soundtrack would be all over it (And Just Like That…could never).

“After Clouds Look Like Mountains from Above, which was deeply rooted in self-exploration, I realized I’d reached a point where I had everything I needed — except a romantic partner to grow with,” he says. “I decided to dedicate this project to the lover I haven’t met yet.”
