Over the course of her illustrious career on stage and screen, we’ve come to know and love Jenny Slate in many different forms — a legendary diva, a whimsical shell, and a riotously self-aware and funny stand-up comedian to name a few — but now she’s making her way back home to celebrate her latest lifeform as she steps back into the literary realm with a new book.
Returning to the Wilbur stage tonight (October 23), the Milton native and decorated multi-hyphenate artist is bringing a different type of show to town in celebration of the release of her latest writing endeavor, Lifeform, which boasts an eclectic collection of personal essays penned by the New York Times bestselling author herself as she chronicled five phases of her life from the single life, true love and her pregnancy, to life with her baby, and beyond.
The new book joins a growing list of written works from Slate, joining her 2016 book About the House, which she co-wrote alongside her father Ron about her childhood home in Milton, and her 2019 effort in Little Weirds.
Whether it’s zany, hilarious, insightful, or even at times poignant, any moment with Jenny Slate at the helm is sure to be a great time for all, so check it out.
