Alessia Cara paints a portrait of love on ‘(Isn’t It) Obvious’

Via JC Publicity

Get ready for an(other) Alessia Cara renaissance. The Canadian alt-pop artist is set to release new album Love & Hyperbole on Valentine’s Day ’25, and today (October 21) primes the release pump with a mindful dose of cool via a John Mayer collaboration called “(Isn’t It) Obvious.” The chilled-out and magnetic pop-rock single paints a lyrical portrait of unconditional love and follows recent effort “Dead Man,” complete with a sweet guitar solo from Mayer. “If ‘Dead Man’ is about emotional distance, then ‘(Isn’t It) Obvious’ is about being physically apart from someone but reminding them how much you love them,” says Cara. “As I was coming up with the lyrics I was pulling a lot of inspiration from singer-songwriters like John Mayer, so it’s mind-blowing to me that he ended up actually playing on the song.” Take it for a spin below.
