This Show Is Tonight: Miracle Blood open a noisy wound at Deep Cuts

Last we caught up with Miracle Blood, the Boston heavy noise-rock dudes were running amok around Allston, canvassing the gritty wonderland as a backdrop for their killer “Phenomenon” music video. Now the trio takes it north to Medford for a Hello Hell record release party tonight (October 4) at Deep Cuts, and there’s an air of exclusivity to the show that we find kind of refreshing.

That’s because after Hello Hell experienced a delay in production of its physical product, now aiming for a November release via Nefarious Industries, Miracle Blood have decided to hold true to the release party and preview the album live, hook up attendees with a free download (just show the band you purchased an advance ticket), and raise a glass via a signature Deep Cuts beer called Hello Helles Lager.

That sure beats sitting around and picking the hair out of our asses while half-listening to it on Spotify. And as a nice bonus, Vanyaland faves Sapling and BEDTIMEMAGIC round out tonight’s bill.

“We wanted to do something special for Boston,” says vocalist and guitarist Andrew Wong. “Boston has been really awesome to us over the last few years. This is our hometown and where we got our start. This is where people first actually liked our music and turned up for us. Sapling and BEDTIMEMAGIC were both bands we really connected with and helped us out a lot when we really got started playing shows. I was completely blown away the first time I saw both bands. They both go beyond just playing music and are a spectacle to see live. …Both bands came into the studio while we were recording Hello Hell and contributed gang vocals on a few tracks.”

Wong says the band is “pumped to be playing at Deep Cuts,” adding: “I actually live down the street. It’s an excellent venue. It’s a great space, awesome sound, and delicious food. We’re stoked they’re making a beer for it. I asked the owner, Ian, if we could make it a helles lager just so we could call it ‘Hello Helles Lager,’ to go with the album title. He was just like: ‘done.’”

It makes sense that a venue with “Cuts” in its name would get along nicely with a band with “Blood” in its title. Someone should make an Insta Reel with that things that just make sense theme as we all do the Italian hand gesture…
