This Show Is Tonight: Marianas Trench bring ‘Thunder’ to Boston

Courtesy of Crossroads Presents

There’s a Force of Nature coming down from the north, and it sounds a lot like Marianas Trench. The enduring Canadian pop-rock band unveiled a 2024 North American tour fresh off the spring release of a pair of dynamite singles in “A Normal Life” and the radio-ready “Lightning and Thunder,” and it plays Boston’s Citizens House of Blues this evening (October 1), with Cassadee Pope and PIAO on board as support.

“There is no greater feeling than the thunderous roar of thousands of Trenchers permeating our eardrums when we set foot on stage to perform,” declares Matt Webb of Marianas Trench. “We have longed for this feeling, dearly, over the last few years, and are f&*king thrilled to be back with the Force of Nature Tour…!”

“Lightning and Thunder” is a theatrical tone-setting anthem for what’s to come. Figuratively and literally! “Every story begins with a call to adventure,” says frontman Josh Ramsay. “’Lightning and Thunder’ is about finding out my partner and I were going to have our first child, which is probably the biggest call to adventure I’m ever going to experience.”
