Jimmy Cash seeks to spill it out and mop it up at The Wilbur

Within the ever-evolving lore of Jimmy Cash, high profile shows and even a few commercial appearances for regional staples have come droves in 2024. Now as he looks to the new year, the “Janitor with Stamina” is already making a splash with another milestone.

Per the announcement earlier this week, Cash will be spending some of his February vacation time away from the halls of Worcester Public Schools to set a new milestone in his career with one night at The Wilbur on February 20. Although he’s been on the grind for over a decade, the Worcester native has seen a significant boost in popularity over the course of the past two years with shows reaching beyond New England, and highlighted by a sold-out St. Patrick’s Day weekend run at Worcester’s Tuckerman Hall earlier this year, where he performed in front of more than 1,500 people in total.

The rest of The Wilbur’s 2025 calendar is continuing to fill up, as well, with international comedy all-star Russell Peters returning after quite a bit of time away on January 15, followed by a night at Medford’s Chevalier Theatre on January 16. Putting the “silly” in Silicon Valley, Tech Roast is also bringing their Touring Machine run to Tremont Street on January 16 to bring the pain on industry giants, while Phil Hanley takes his Spellbound book tour on the road, which sets up shop at The Wilbur on March 15. To top it all off, at least for this slate of announcements, the legendary and consistently crushing Margaret Cho returns to the Theatre District with a night at The Wilbur on March 24 to deliver another ferociously funny dose of her fast and deep-cutting comedy to the masses.

The character work of Dude Dad, delivered by comedian Taylor Calmus, has made quite an impact in the digital space, and he’s looking to carry that momentum back on to the live stage as he brings his On Thin Ice tour to Medford’s Chevalier Theatre on March 22. Of course, his comedic stylings have helped parents manage the stresses of raising children, but as a father of four himself, it’s looking like a night out for all the moms and dads in the area will be a welcomed event for plenty of reasons.

But before any of these shows fill the first quarter of the new year, Joel Kim Booster is bringing a dose of heat on his own as he brings his Rude Little Pig tour to Somerville’s Crystal Ballroom on November 12. In terms of his stand-up career, the Chicago native’s latest special, Psychosexual can be found on Netflix, in addition to a slew of TV credits including HBO’s Industry, Sunnyside on NBC, the Apple TV+ comedy series Loot, opposite Maya Rudolph.

Tickets for these shows can be accessed via venue presale now by using the code VANYA, before public on-sale starts on Friday (September 27) at 10 a.m. ET.
