This Show Is Tonight: Casey Crawford pushes ‘record’ in Somerville

Via Artist

Aside from what has become his signature look of wearing a beanie on stage, Casey Crawford wears many hats. However, no descriptor has rung more true for the longtime Boston-based comic than the simple yet effective “Joke writer.”

You’ll be able to see exactly why at The Rockwell tonight (September 20) as the North Dakota native and longtime locally-rooted fan favorite takes to Davis Square to record his debut album, Joke Writer. With years of accolades to his credit, including the co-champion title at this year’s Boston Comedy Festival, Crawford putting his expertly-crafted, and self-proclaimed “dumb jokes” on record isn’t just a payoff for Crawford and the years of work he’s put in on the road, but also a celebration of the accomplishments and creative force he’s wielded over the years. It’s bound to be a special night, and to make the moment even sweeter, he’s bringing Rob Crean and Janet McNamara along for the Friday night party, so it’s sure to be a top-notch banger from start to finish.

Sure, you could wait to listen to the album when it comes out, but there’s just something about being part of that experience that makes for a better time, and it’s always cool to say “I was there when things got weird.”
