With “funny” being a given, making your way to see a comedian who is consistent on stage is a near guarantee that you’ll have a good time. In the case of Maria Bamford, she holds both of those attributes in buckets, and she’s bringing it all back to Boston for another go-around.

As announced earlier this week amidst a flurry of new show announcements, Bamford is set to make her return to The Wilbur in 2025, with one night in the Theatre District on March 6. While she has remained one of the more consistently touring comics in the game, Bamford also released her most recent hour special, Local Act, in December 2023.

The arms may be short, but the reach is phenomenal for Dinosaur Improv, a troupe composed of some of the art form’s biggest stars in Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas, Rob Huebel and more, as they make their way to The Wilbur as part of a limited national run on November 20.

Very few, if any, can tout an ability to bring as much filth and unfiltered comedic chaos as Big Jay Oakerson can, so get ready for it, because he’s making his way back to Boston for one night at The Wilbur on December 28 to help close out the year. While Oakerson did release his most recent special, Dog Belly on YouTube last year, he also continues to co-host The Bonfire podcast alongside Robert Kelly.

While we’re seeing quite a few familiar faces returning to Boston’s storied comedy cathedral, Jordan Jensen is set to make her Wilbur debut on February 16. When she isn’t crushing on stage with her highly personal stand-up, she can be seen as the co-host of the hit podcast, Bein’ Ian with Jordan alongside fellow comedian Ian Fidance. She also released a half-hour special on YouTube in 2023.

He may not be grabbing the mic and telling jokes, but Macaulay Culkin is bringing the “Culkamania” and nostalgia in droves, as well as a significant amount of Christmas spirit, as the Hollywood icon brings Home Alone to Medford’s Chevalier Theatre on December 15 for a viewing of the film, which will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.

In addition to all the new shows, Romesh Ranganathan has also announced a 9:45 p.m. show during his stop at Somerville’s Crystal Ballroom on January 14.

Tickets to these shows can be accessed via the Regulars presale now, before venue presales can be accessed beginning on Thursday (September 12) at 10 a.m. ET by using the code VANYA. Public on-sale starts on Friday (September 13) at 10 a.m. ET.
