SOME Fest curates an eclectic lineup of New England artists in Kittery

Via Bandcamp

Did you hear there’s SOME Fest up in Kittery this weekend?

With a title like “SOME Fest,” the annual Maine gathering might sound easy to dismiss, when it’s actually one of this summer’s best showcases of New England music. The second edition of the eclectic fest kicks off this Saturday (September 7) at The Dance Hall in Kittery, featuring roughly a dozen acts from across the region. In fact, by our count, the only state that’s missing a representative is Vermont. (Right around here is where we remind you that the drive from Boston to Kittery is only 90 minutes).

The lineup includes Kittery locals Hello Shark and Portland’s elegant outfit Dead Gowns (pictured above), as well as the “Northern New England” two-piece band, Kendra. Massachusetts folk duo Sweet Petunia will drive North for the occasion, along with Connecticut alt-rock group Ovlov and Rhode Island noise-poppers Mulva. New Hampshire is particularly well-represented, with a major chunk of performers hailing from areas like Manchester (Megan From Work, Happy Just To See You), Dover (Kill-Kennie, Sponge Head), and the general seacoast (Deer Isle).

SOME Fest is split into halves: an afternoon portion that offers an arts market, pop-up gallery, and kids activities in addition to live performances, and a music-only segment in the evening. Half-day passes are $15 and all-day admission is $25.
