Allie X, Weird World Tour, October 31

While we’re all busy making plans for 2025, Allie X is here giving us something to do for Halloween — and there is no better night to Xperience her “Weird World.” The Canadian alt-pop singer, songwriter, and visual artist — who is no stranger to our pink digital ink — has unveiled a new tour to close out the year, and it starts with an October 31 show at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club. Named for a track on her February album Girl With No Face, which should appear on some best-of lists just after the tour wraps around Thanksgiving. “It’s very hard to sum up a body of work you’ve spent thousands of hours on, but here’s an attempt,” she writes. “There is a death in this music, as well as the beginning of a rebirth. I needed to make something that came completely from me. If only once, and if only to prove to myself that I could do it. I would describe these songs as angry, stubborn, honest, dry, melodramatic, fast, and indulgent.. the same way some people describe me ha. I hope everyone likes it but if not, try turning it up a bit.” Tickets go on sale Thursday (August 29) at 10 a.m. local time.
