You’ve heard of 30 Minute Meals with Rachael Ray, now get ready for one minute bean salads with BEDTIMEMAGIC. The Boston post-hardcore duo have released a video for their track “Keep Dreaming” that embraces a droolworthy creative direction: Rapid-fire culinary art. And by “culinary art,” we mean making a three-bean salad in 57 seconds. (There is some inter-band debate over how many bean types are actually involved; best not to mention it).
The visual dropped today (August 28) to supplement the track from BEDTIMEMAGIC’s 2023 LP Sleep Together. You know what they say — a spoonful of bean salad makes harrowing lines like “You miss the old me / I miss the old me, too / No turning back now” go down. Or something like that.
“We’re a band that rarely makes videos, so when we actively choose to make a video, we want to do something different,” says vocalist and bassist Nicholas Pentabona. “Morgan had suggested doing recipes we like. We went with Morgan’s go-to choice for fresh eating.”
Adds drummer, vocalist, organist, and BEDTIMEMAGIC head chef Morgan Berns: “I chose this video because it is delicious. That’s it.”
