Over the last few years, Alok has truly made a name for themselves with a handful of topo-notch live shows. Now, things have a gotten a bit “Hairy” for them, so they’re letting Boston in on some of the struggle.

AS announced earlier this week, the critically-acclaimed comedian and poet will be bringing their latest live show, Hairy Situation, to The Wilbur for the first time on October 21. Currently in the midst of a two-week run of the show at Edinburgh Fringe, the native Texan has already achieved top-tier status with their latest show, following in the footsteps of their other creatives endeavors like the trio of literary offerings they’ve produced in Beyond The Gender Binary, Femme In Public, and Your Wound, My Garden. Additionally, Alok has sold out shows in a number of high-profile settings like London Soho Theatre, Just For Laughs, and the Netflix Is a Joke Fest.

In a strange case of deja vu, David Nihill has readjusted his touring schedule, and will now be bringing his Shelf Help tour to The Wilbur on March 9. Equipped with a treasure trove of stories collected while traveling the world, Nihill puts a microscope on himself as he continues to discuss his navigation through American society as an Irish immigrant. His latest stand-up special, Cultural Appreciation, has also garnered over one-million views on YouTube.

Over in Somerville, comedian Jessica McKenna and music writer Zach Reino continue to bring the dual-action hilarity of their podcast Off Book around the world, including a night at Somerville’s Center For The Arts at The Armory on December 8 as part of their Off Book: The Improvised Musical live tour. Although the podcast has become the biggest credit in their collective repertoire, the duo has also put their creative stamp on everything from their own musical comedy album, The Calendar Album, and writing musical sketches for shows like Rick and Morty, Party Over Here, and Pitch Perfect: Bumper In Berlin, to writing and composing music for Peacock’s Baking It, starring Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, and Andy Samberg.

Tickets for these shows can be accessed via venue websites now.
