Ollie Wride, February 20
Ollie Wride continues to be one of England’s greatest showmen, elevating above the synthwave scene and into the more expansive world of electronic-pop with a sound that spans synth to alternative to lush art-rock. The FM-84 collaborator has embarked on a successful solo career, and with the recent announcement of new album The Pressure Point comes a highly welcome North America tour — dubbed “my biggest tour yet” by Wride — that lands at Brighton Music Hall in Allston on February 20. With FM-84, Wride penned some of synthwave’s most known tracks, like “Running in The Night”, and his debut solo album Thanks in Advance charted on Billboard’s Top 10 Electronic charts and hit the top spot on iTunes’ electronic charts. But it’s the live show — and live Ollie Wride experience — that’s a must-see. “Full band, spec’d show, new cuts and of course FM-84 staples,” he promises. “I can’t wait to see you all again.” Tickets are on sale now.
