Comedy fans everywhere, rejoice. After a bit of time away from the screen, Roy Wood Jr. is making his way back to TV, and he’s doing so by trading one news source for another – just this time, there’s a game show twist involved.
As announced earlier this week, the highly successful stand-up comedian and former Daily Show correspondent will be making his way to CNN to be at the helm of Have I Got News For You, bringing the popular BBC comedy quiz show of the same name to the US. The panel-led series will continue the legacy of the institution it became in Britain, as entertainers, political figures and, of course, comedians deliver satirical and surreal comedic observations while testing their knowledge of current events, pop culture, and more.
The 10-episode limited series is set to premiere on September 14, and will run weekly, before becoming available to stream on Max the following morning.
