Well, we’ve got a lot of things to smile about today. In case you somehow missed it, the Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA championship on Monday night, and did so in dramatic fashion. Well, “dramatic” might not be the right word to use — “emphatic” would be a little better. Al Horford’s finally got his ring after seventeen years in the league, a number so crazy that we had to spell it out instead of using the numerals. Head coach Joe Mazzulla became the youngest head coach in NBA history — aside from Celtics great Bill Russell — to win a title. Jrue Holiday proved why he’s the GOAT addition to any starting line-up. And the Js — Jayson Tatum and Finals MVP Jaylen Brown — kicked an unholy amount of ass. So, yeah. Thanks to the Smile 2 trailer, which dropped earlier on Tuesday, for letting us rant about how much we love this team, and how hyped we are to watch the Duck Boats go by on Friday.
Oh, we should say something about the movie, probably — uh, this Smile 2 trailer is almost as scary as Derrick White’s teeth last night after that collision? And just in case — we’re just joking, Mr. White (and we think you’d be cool with it based on how awesome you played it off on the podium last night).
Peep it:
Here’s a synopsis:
“About to embark on a new world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.“
Smile 2 arrives in theaters on October 18, just in time for Halloween. The only thing that’s scarier that we can imagine, at least at the moment, is Lebron going to the Warriors in the off-season. We just straight-up shivered writing that.
