Wolves Of Glendale saddle up for country-inspired ‘Ricky’

Via Artist

Giddy up, cowboys and cowgirls — Wolves Of Glendale are back with a new single, and it’s a rootin’ tootin’ rollercoaster ride, all the way from the dusty plains of the countryside to a New York State prison.

Following the release of their debut album earlier this year, the Wolves have returned late last week with a June 7 release – a barn burning new single in “Ricky” that not only transports the listener to the closing scene of a Western epic, but also brings the comedy music trio into some new genre territory as they give up the power synth for a little more grit and twang.

For three minutes and 23 seconds, follow a wannabe wrangler as he follows his dream of being a cowboy in the worst ways possible, including, but not limited to: Selling his car for a horse, naming that horse “Ricky,” losing that horse and subsequently searching every New York borough for his wayward steed, and ultimately punching a mounted officer (or rather, a “horse cop”) who he thought stole his equestrian pal.

There’s an impressive amount of action squeezed into this track, as the Wolves tend to do with finesse, which only makes their creative presence even stronger in 2024. Check it out below.
