Mic’d Up: ‘I Identify as a Witch’, Nate Jackson, Have Some Pun!

Via The Wilbur

Editor’s NoteJust like Justin Timberlake said way back in the day with his iconic ramen hair: “It’s gonna be May”. With a new month and nice weather comes even better comedy talent, and maybe a few less reasons to stay inside. So, while we keep searching for where the time and our sanity have gone, we’ll take the chance to remind you that comedy is continuing to do the Lord’s work by giving us something to smile (or groan, wince, or gasp) at. With homegrown talent, national headliners, and open mics galore highlighting the calendar, the plethora of powerful comedy throughout the commonwealth continues to show up, night after night. Enter Mic’d Up, our ongoing weekly series that details the best live comedy shows to consider as you head out and about. Below, find our rundown for this week, through Sunday (May 12).

Nate Jackson at Shubert Theatre

Continuing his ascent in the comedy game, Nate Jackson is working some big rooms on his Super Funny world tour, and if the nearly sold out Shubert is any indication of what kind of hype he has behind him as he makes his way to town, there’s no doubt that it’ll be a power-packed night of hilarity.

NATE JACKSON :: Friday, May 10 at Shubert Theatre, 265 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6 p.m., from $43.50 :: Advance tickets

Have Some Pun! at The Raven

The Raven is already such a special venue, full of creative force and inspiration. But to also have a full slew of hard-grinding comics make up the lineup for a Friday night of laughs and letting loose, it’s a full-on W, through and through.

HAVE SOME PUN! :: Friday, May 10 at The Raven, 258 Pleasant St. in Worcester, MA :: 7:30 p.m., $10 :: Event Info

Caroline Rhea & Melissa Joan Hart: ‘I Identify as a Witch’ at Chevalier Theatre

It may not be October, but the spirit of Halloween will be alive and well this weekend as the Sabrina The Teenage Witch stars make their way to the area to unleash a live edition of Caroline Rhea’s hit podcast. It will surely be a blast from the past and a welcomed dose of nostalgia, so the only thing that could possibly make it better is if Salem himself made an appearance.

I IDENTIFY AS A WITCH :: Saturday, May 11 at The Chevalier Theatre, 30 Forest St. in Medford, MA :: 6 p.m., $39 to $140 :: Advance tickets
