Beth Stelling returns to Somerville for a night at The Armory

Via Bill Blumenreich Presents

In 2023, Beth Stelling put a hold on her conquering of the stand-up game to throw down in the Field Hockey PanAm championships. Now she’s back from kicking ass on the field and has resumed kicking ass on stage — and will be returning to Somerville later this year to let us know what she’s been up to.

As announced earlier this week, Stelling will be making her way back to Somerville this fall, but this time on a bigger stage at The Center For the Arts at The Armory on September 27. In addition to her past work on TV shows like the smash-hit animated series Rick & Morty, Stelling Aldo most recently released her second full hour of stand-up with If You Didn’t Want Me Then on Netflix in 2023 to vast critical acclaim.

Also heading to The Armory later this year, influencer and The Comment Section podcast host Drew Afualo makes her way to the area on July 31, as part of a book tour supporting her first literary venture, Loud: Accept Nothing Less Than The Life You Deserve. Included in the night’s festivities will also be a live rendition of her podcast Two Idiot Girls, which she co-hosts with her sister, Deison.

Rising comedy star and Just For Laughs “New Face” standout Maddie Wiener will be in town for one night on July 12 at Deep Cuts in Medford. Aside from her most well-known role as co-host of the We’re Having Gay Sex podcast with Ashley Gavin, Wiener has also recorded a stand-up set for Comedy Central, and has appeared on You Up with Nikki Glaser, as well as Pause with Sam Jay on HBO. She’s also killed as an opener for Anthony Jeselnik, Nikki Glaser, Joe List, Drew Michael, Jared Freid, Andrew Santino, and more.

Ismo is bringing his Watch Your Language world tour to The Wilbur on October 5. Since making his debut in the US version of a decade ago, the Finnish stand-up star has amassed quite a sizable following with his insightful observations, his ability to connect cultures with those observations, and penchant for top-tier wordplay, which has resulted in a significant uptick in his social media following, as well as his online clips rangling over 115 million views.

Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo are bringing their critically-acclaimed podcast Giggly Squad into a live setting at Chevalier Theatre on October 18. With their new show Club Giggly, the duo is sure to get everyone involved as they find reasons to make fun of anything and everything they can think of.

Additionally, Comedy Bang! Bang! is officially doubling up with a second show at The Wilbur on June 12, following the sell-out reaction to the first show that was announced earlier this month. As well, Sheng Wang is signing up for a Wilbur hat trick as a third show has been added to his Boston stop on October 20.

Tickets to these shows can be accessed now via The Regulars presale before venue pre-sales can be accessed by using the code VANYA beginning on Thursday (April 25) at 10 a.m. ET. General public on-sale is slated to start on Friday (April 26) at 10 a.m. ET.
