Demo Division put in the alt-rock effort with ‘WANTED2TRY’

There are many ways to lead off a lyric sheet, but it’s been proven that offering up some variation of “I wanted to try / I wanted to feel something / Something inside” is certain to hit us right in the feels. That’s where we’re at with Demo Division and the Chicago band’s new single “WANTED2TRY,” a fuzzed-out dose of detached-cool alt-rock, grunge, and post-hardcore that crashed the streams this past Friday (April 12). “I wanted to express how it finally feels putting effort into something,” says vocalist Carlos Jimenez. “There’s times we put effort into a craft we only care about and sometimes lack the support or motivation from those close to you. It’s a realization of having to do things for yourself and no one else.” Demo Division release new EP SUNKEN SKIN, out May 3 via New Morality Zine, and based on these riff-delicious 149 seconds of attention-grabbing effort, the record suddenly feels like one not to sleep on.
