This Show Is Tonight: Get cozy with Dru Cutler in Cambridge

One of the more intriguing shows on Cambridge’s live docket this evening (April 5) takes place in a small-but-mighty venue tucked between a yarn store and a pub, as the Lilypad plays host to Dru Cutler.

The New York-based producer, musician, and songwriter released a double single back in February, featuring a cover of Flaming Lips’ “Oh My Pregnant Head” and a beautiful instrumental synth-scape titled “Slow & Sunny” (not dissimilar to his fall release “Will to Mend”). Now, he’s using that new music momentum for a late night gig at the Inman Square space before playing Providence’s AS220 community space on Saturday.

Get there early (relatively writing, as doors open at 10 p.m.) to grab a spot and check out the two local acts kicking things off. Berklee songwriting professor Chris Walton is offering a solo set featuring his coffeehouse jazz pop stylings, while Cambridge’s own “artist, sonic explorer, and vibe curator” Kit Orion will bring a folk-pop flair.

DRU CUTLER + CHRIS WALTON + KIT ORION :: Friday, April 5 at the Lilypad, 1353 Cambridge St. in Cambridge, MA :: 10 p.m., all ages, $15 :: Event info
