There are fever dreams, and then there are HARDC0RE DR3AMZ — i.e. lusty jolts of techno provided by Rico Nasty and Boys Noize. A recipe for chaos in the club if there ever was one, the pair today (March 29) unveiled a taut three-track EP that borders on hallucinogenic. From lead single “Arintintin” — which proclaims “Lights down, bass up / I ain’t going home / Face down, ass up / I ain’t going home” like a battle cry — to the deceivingly sensitive banger “Vvgina,” HARDC0RE DR3AMZ captures 2024’s musical zeitgeist with rushing elements of hip-hop and hyper-pop. The only frustrating aspect of this EP is that it didn’t drop sooner — after all, this is the same duo that gave us the Flo Milli collab “Money” back in 2021. Thankfully, danceable dreams that go this hard are worth the wait.
