John Cleese will have Chevalier Theatre going coconuts for ‘The Holy Grail’

It’s been nearly 50 years since the Monty Python gang brought the world toward Camelot, and now John Cleese is suiting up once again to bring us back.

On second thought, let’s not go to Camelot. It’s a silly place. Instead, let’s go to Medford.

Per the announcement earlier this week, the legendary Monty Python star will take Monty Python and The Holy Grail for another whirl around the country this year, including a stop over at Medford’s Chevalier Theatre on June 8. Creeping up on the film’s 50th anniversary, Cleese will follow a similar format as he’s done in the past, as have other legends of the craft like Chevy Chase and Kevin Smith, by bringing the iconic comedy to a live audience to celebrate its long-standing stature as one of the most highly-esteemed comedies of all-time. In addition to a full presentation of the film, Cleese will also host a live Q&A with the crowd following the showing and take time for a stroll down memory lane to tell some stories about the making of the film.

Paul Giamatti is bringing his deep-diving podcast, Chinwag, to Somerville’s Center for the Arts at The Armory on April 19. Co-hosting alongside author and philosopher Stephen Asma, Giamatti takes an insightful, and often humorous, look into a seemingly endless supply of topics with a diverse list of guests, seeking to expand perspective by taking a trip into questions surrounding the possibility of living in a simulation, the most perfect sentence in literature, the existence of Bigfoot, and so much more.
