This Show Is Tonight: Mitski holds court across four nights in Boston

One of the more notable aspects of Mitski’s ever-expanding North American tour is the artist performing multiple nights at each venue, like four shows next week at New York’s Beacon Theatre, and four shows in April at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Boston gets its own quartet of shows, and they start tonight and run through Saturday (February 15 to 18) at MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

The acclaimed American singer and songwriter is on the road supporting her enchanting and stripped-down 2023 album The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, which she describes as her “most American album.” It’s the follow-up to 2022 full-length Laurel Hell.

The multi-night stints in cities, Mitski says, is by design. “Ticket-buying is incredibly difficult these days, and I truly appreciate what you all go through to come to our concerts,” she wrote on Instagram last fall. “In our efforts to make the show experience extra special, we found beautiful, seated theaters to play over multiple nights, rather than one giant venue per city, in the hopes of offering a more intimate experience to the audience.”
