Delilah Brao preserves ‘Seats For Ghosts’ in wistful new single

If you put aside an antique for a lover, but break up before you have the chance to present it to them, is that item technically cursed? We’re asking on behalf of Delilah Brao, who’s staring down a pair of dusty, ungifted Harvard chairs in her new single “Seats For Ghosts,” released today (February 9).

From her current home in Los Angeles, the Boston-born traces pangs of nostalgia back to the antiques — once intended to be a home-run Christmas gift — currently gathering dust on the East Coast. “Now they’re just seats for ghosts for the people we were,” she reflects, crafting a poppy but somber meditation about relics of romance. Cling to them, and they’ll haunt you or take on a life of their own.

Either way, a little superstitious lore will get you more dough at the flea market. Take a seat with Brao below.
